We don’t have any AI SDRs. No “AI Powered” outreach.
Those tools are useful but people absolutely hate receiving messages with your name on them that clearly was written by AI.
I do it the good old fashioned human way.
And it’s not because I’d rather pay humans to do work a machine could do. The machine can’t do the work well enough.
AI puts together sentences that are clear and concise. They just don’t always string together cohesively.
I’ll give you an example.
I was working on a project for a client. Sitting here with my notepad like I usually do, jotting down ideas, reading through her profile and her background.
And I got stuck. Couldn’t quite figure out how to connect her background to the message.
So I put everything into Claude and it spat out a whole bunch of ideas. Which is how I like to use AI for something like that – iterate, get the creative ideas going faster, then take it and rewrite it at the end into something that has the human aspect to it.
But what I noticed was it couldn’t connect the ideas either. It would be two sentences sitting next to each other and it was very jarring.
I’ve noticed this over and over again. AI looks good at first glance. You take a step back and it looks okay. Then you really dig in – does that word make sense, do those sentences make sense – and typically, no.
That’s why I don’t do AI powered prospecting. That’s why I don’t have AI agents doing the work for my clients.
I wouldn’t get them the results they’re looking for. They hired me to get meetings, not to just fire off messages.
