Does anyone send Loom videos anymore?
I do.
Should you? I think the answer really is that it depends what your goal is.
If you’re looking for something that’s gonna boost the number of meetings you schedule, Loom videos are probably not going to help with that. (at least not on LinkedIn)
Oftentimes when I’m working with clients, I tell them Loom videos are a good way to produce higher quality meetings.
It’s an easier thing for people to say yes to. And it actually reduces the overall number of meetings you schedule, because it gives people a way to say yes to something smaller and then figure out on their own if they want to talk more.
So the short version is fewer meetings, but better quality when they do schedule.
I’ll mention as an aside here that yes, Loom got acquired by Atlassian and will probably be a degraded service somehow in the future. But right now, the Loom thing still carries weight.
The little animated GIFs. The transcripts. A polished interface people are already familiar with.
I’ve tried other video services, and really, Loom is worth the subscription. And trust me, the LAST thing I want is another subscription to pay for. Fortunately it’s reasonably priced.
They’ve been helpful for me, they continue to work, so I’m going to keep using them.
If you really hate them, you don’t have to use them. But they’re worth giving a shot if you haven’t considered them.
