What does posting daily actually do for you on LinkedIn?
I just ran an experiment over the past month (in July, I’m a few days late posting the results). Every weekday, I posted a new video.
Mostly business content related to what I do. Not (many) rants or viral ragebait. For the most part I tried to avoid the stuff I knew was gonna get likes and things like that, and really focused in on the business content.
And the results were not what I was expecting.
Now, the fact that I didn’t get a lot of comments on most of those videos? That was expected.
I’ve seen that over the past few years. Video content just doesn’t get the same number of views. People kind of skip over it.
LinkedIn wants to be a video platform because video is sticky. LinkedIn is definitely not a video platform.
And yeah, the numbers looked bad. Not many likes. Not many comments.
Very few shares and reposts. Overall video views were pretty mediocre.
But here’s the part that actually excites me about the whole thing.
I’m looking at the numbers because in July we DOUBLED the number of appointments booked over the previous month.
I didn’t change anything. The ad campaigns didn’t change. The offer didn’t change.
What did change? Now I’m out there every day. I’m getting in the feed every day, versus before it was very sporadic. Maybe once or twice a month, a post about an event, and then gone again.
The cobbler’s son has no shoes type of thing. I was recommending people do it, but I wasn’t doing it myself.
So it’s been a very fruitful experiment so far, and I’m probably gonna be doing a lot more of it.
You’ll be seeing a lot more of me in the feed. (sorry in advance)
